About Me

given a second chance. addicted to grace. married. dad of three.

left-handed. pastor. blogger. introvert.

Passionate about the church.

I love the Northern California, the Oregon coast, and Central Oregon. I dig running, riding my bike to work, reading books, blogging, and genuine conversations along with a cup of strong black coffee.

Education info if you care—I have a BBL (Bachelor in Biblical Literature) degree from Ozark Christian College & MAOL (Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership) degree from Lincoln Christian University (in process).

I seek to live out Micah 6:8 and 2 Corinthians 5:11-21 everyday.

Currently, I am the Lead Pastor at Ascent Christian Church in Prineville, Oregon.

I have worked in leadership and management in two companies for ten years prior/simultaneously to vocational ministry (one being a Fortune 500 company). In ministry, I have served in churches in California, Missouri, and Colorado as a pastor in the areas of neighborhood ministry, student ministry, preteen ministry, and family ministry for almost two decades.

I have helped write books, articles, and teach workshops at conferences about preteen ministry, student ministry & parenting. What I am deeply passionate about is helping people live out Colossians 1:9-10 by helping them “love Jesus and love like him.”

This blog is about grace, loving God and loving your neighbor, church, preaching, theology, Christian formation, culture, mentoring, and leadership. I will focus the majority of my blog posts on these topics. More importantly this is my personal blog and I reserve the right to talk about spiritual stuff in general, my family, history, running, and really, anything else that crosses my mind.

*I post on this blog almost three times a week (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday), and occasionally I will add additional posts throughout the week.

Just so you know, this website is my personal blog.
